When you think of a GREECE holiday by a sea front huddle of colourful houses built around a hilltop castle, with churches, Museums, archeological sites you probably picture a town just like Pythagorion, where you can relax on its majestic shore, and enjoy a summer festival atmosphere. Our favorite spilling down the hillsides small towns to the North include nearby Mitilinioi (10km), the gorgeous duo of Koumaradei (20km), and Pirgos (25km), Heraion is just 8km away to the west, with monasteries, churches, medieval castle and Pappa beach. A little further are Samos town (15km), with its buzzing Piazza del Leone, and renowned archeological museum and wine museum, Kokkari (20km), Vourliotes and Manolates (30km) and Karlovasi and the Potami waterfalls (45Km)
While Samos Island has more than 60 fantastic beaches, the limited facilities nearby The Electra Premium coves, beaches composed of smooth white stones (kids might want beach shoes), accessed via a 30-minute walk through pinewoods is the connoisseur’s choice for variety. Best for children is Psili Ammos, on the south – east coast a half-mile-long swathe of golden sand giving onto calm shallow sea, and equipped with sun beds, and restaurants. Proteas beach and Glicorisa beach are 5 minutes drive, Tsambou, Tsamadou, Lemonakia on the north, Mourtia, Klima, Kerveli on east coast and for more Caribbean style try Livadaki sandy beach on the north-east coast. Or take a boat-ride to the remote south coast, to bathe at Samiopoula Island sandy beach.

We strongly recommend exploring our diverse eco-system on foot. The trails along The Electra Premium are ideal for a short stroll, follow the Western road through pine trees and outcroppings to summit Poundes Peak. Hike the Western hills through olive groves and wildflower meadows to ancient Samos city walls and Monastery Agia Triada. A half-hour hike away, the spectacular cliff-side Spiliani Monastery stands high above Pythagorion. Avid backpackers can appreciate Samos as an advanced hiking resort with the countless routes through the countryside, around the coastline as well as on the mountains Karvounis, Kerkis and the forest hills, including caves and rock formations.
